Working at IEE

Working at IEE

We're positive that we're a good company to work for. But you don't need to take our word for it.

Take a look at what some of our colleagues have to say about working at IEE.

Marcel - Embedded Software EngineerIEE Luxembourg

Hello, my name is Marcel and I work as an Embedded Software Developer for IEE. I joined the company in October 2013, after graduating with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.

As a member of the Software Team, my role involves developing software for electronic devices mainly used in the automotive industry. The work is very versatile and challenging and I have the opportunity to collaborate with several other departments, mainly system and hardware engineering, on a daily basis.

To develop and test automotive embedded software, you need to use state-of-the art CAD tools and measurement equipment. You also need to strictly adhere to the appropriate development process in order to achieve the expected quality, cost, performance, and safety targets.

Each day I work closely with engineers and customers from different cultures who are located all around the world – and I love this international aspect. Everything we do, we do as a team - and that makes all the difference.

Stefanie - PurchaserIEE Luxembourg

My name is Stefanie and I’m a Program Purchaser for electronics at IEE. So what does that mean? Well basically, I’m the link between our supplier and our hardware developers. Internally, I’m involved in project teams to calculate and optimize costs at an early stage. I also support technical discussions with our suppliers and am responsible for contract negotiations and settlements.
At IEE, I enjoy the international focus - not only do I get to work with colleagues from around the world, but also with international customers and suppliers. I also like to the variety in the work I do and the flexibility I have in organizing my working hours. And of course, it’s great to be part of the automotive sector.

Orlando HW

orlando - hardware development EngineerIEE Luxembourg

My name is Orlando and I’m an Electronic Engineer at IEE. I’m a member of the company’s Hardware Design and our main objective is to develop hardware based on product requirements. So what does that mean for me? Well, my main tasks include designing, analyzing and testing electronic circuits.

Designing electronics requires both creativity and analytical thinking, which is what makes this job challenging. The time spent in turning an idea into reality – from concept to circuit – with all the possible problems that this involves, pays off the moment you switch on the circuit and realize that what was once on paper is now before your eyes.

At IEE, we’re part of a strong team – we collaborate, communicate and share ideas regularly, and support each other in technical areas. And for me, that’s what makes our company special.

Alice

Alice - ControllerIEE Luxembourg

Hello, my name is Alice and I work as a Controller in IEE Group’s Controlling Department in Contern, Luxembourg. For those of you who don’t know what a Controller does, I participate in the monthly closing and group reporting, the budget process and the improvement of our controlling tools and processes.  I also support some of staff members with regards to cost controlling or other specific topics.

I find it great communicating with people who have a different background or mind-set. Like many organizations we have cultural differences, but here the people take it in their stride – they’re always friendly and open-minded. I really enjoy working in such a multi-cultural team, particularly as I deal with a variety of subjects with colleagues around the world on a day-to-day basis. Another thing I like about working at IEE, is the richness and dynamic nature of the activities. We constantly have to adapt ourselves to changes, due to IEE’s growth. There is always a challenge waiting for us.

Alexander - Embedded Software EngineerIEE Luxembourg

My name is Alexander and I’m an Embedded Software Development Engineer at IEE. That means that I’m involved in developing real-time embedded software for electronics systems like IEE’s Smart Trunk Opener and Hands Off Detection solutions.

My main task is to analyse the customer software and internal hardware requirements, which I then use as input for my software design. After building the software architecture I have to test and verify my design through unitary and real time-testing of the electronic control unit. To do this, I use state-of-the art software tools, as well as the latest hardware peripherals like as bus decrypting oscilloscopes and vector tools.

Designing a good software is a team effort, so I work very closely with the Hardware Development Department and System Engineering to ensure the embedded Software behaves as expected.

One of the things I like most at IEE is that we think globally and act locally. It’s also great to have easy access the other development departments, as this means so I can discuss issues and carry out investigations with my colleagues quickly and at short notice. I also enjoy the international atmosphere of our headquarters in Luxembourg, as well as the good team spirit in the Embedded Software Development where I work.
When you work on the development of new products, every project is different, challenging and exciting. Every day we bring a product that was just an idea on paper one step closer to mass production and I get to be part of it.
